The Treadloom connection

A clear mechanical sequence.

Keep the normal-looking upper. Add the separate, full-coverage flexible outsole. The rails align, slide, and lock into the low-profile receiver channels.

  1. STEP 01

    Align

Work shoe upper aligned above a separate flexible outsole with receiver channels and matching railsALIGN CHANNELS + RAILS

Line up the upper and outsole

Low-profile receiver channels in the retained upper meet the matching rails on the separate, full-coverage flexible outsole.

  2. STEP 02

    Slide

Matching outsole rails sliding into the receiver channels of a work shoe upperSLIDE THE RAILS

    Slide the rails into place

The outsole moves along the channels so the two parts seat together. The rails make the attachment; they are not the tread.

  3. STEP 03

    Lock

Work shoe upper and outsole secured together by a mechanical align-slide-lock connectionLOCK THE CONNECTION

    Secure the mechanical connection

Engage the lock once the parts are aligned. Treadloom is designed around a mechanical connection rather than an adhesive bond.

The important distinction

Rails connect. Tread meets the floor.

The matching rails are the attachment mechanism between the upper and outsole. The tread is the working surface beneath them. Keeping those jobs distinct is the point of the system.

The product is designed for slip resistance on wet and greasy floors. Formal testing and pilot details are still to come.
